Thanks to Chatham University's World Ready Women scholarship, I traveled to Rome and Cilento with Dr. Alice Julier, Program Director and Associate Professor for Food Studies. While there, I studied at Rome's GustoLab with Dr. Fabio Parasecoli, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Food Studies Program at the New School.

I wrote and presented my final project, “Rhetoric of Respect Surrounding Italian Beverage Consumption,” at GustoLab during May 2010. I also used my research to write “‘SHOTS!’ An Analysis of Italian, American and Italian-American Beverage Consumption in Jersey Shore,” which I presented at the Conference on Jersey Shore Studies at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL during October 2011 (Please click conference title to access online article).
